Conference Programming

Conference Programming curates content for HPAIR conferences by crafting a thematic vision for the keynote, panel, and seminars, and by sourcing influential speakers from all over the world, giving them the unique opportunity to forge long-lasting relationships with their delegates and prospective speakers. Bring in the coolest speakers! In the past, we've had the Global Managing Director of McKinsey, the Former U.N. Secretary General, former President of Korea, the CTO of Facebook, Priyanka Chopra, Mayor of Tokyo, President of Timor Leste and so many more!

Design/Multimedia

Design establishes the forward-facing image of the organization through the creation of branding and style guides, sponsorship, marketing, and conference-related materials, including conference logos, merchandise, and delegate handbooks. Experience in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, and/or other similar programs is preferred.

Multimedia is for our creative magicians! The multimedia team will be responsible for taking photos at our conferences, filming videos of the events, and editing these resources to fit within the marketing and broad themes of HPAIR. You can find a snippet of our past work at our YouTube channel!

Delegate Experience

Delegate Experience manages all delegate-related aspects of the conference. The Delegate Experience team crafts the application review process, which solicits applications from over 90 countries, ensures conference affordability through the scholarship program, coordinates with visa officers worldwide to allow delegate entry into our conferences, and communicates conference details regularly with all delegates, giving team members the opportunity to directly interface with some of the world’s brightest young professionals.

Corporate Relations

Corporate Relations is responsible for many front-end conversations with industry, building and maintaining external relationships to support conference programming such as Impact Challenges - day-long corporate sponsored case study competitions. Corporate Relations exists in large part to ensure that the conferences are financially accessible to delegates, negotiating sponsorships such as Celcius and Polar Seltzer, flight discount codes, and transportation discount codes.

Marketing and Communications

Marketing and Communications curates online presence and social media materials to establish the HPAIR brand for delegates, speakers, and sponsors. Associates in Marketing and Communications achieve this by researching the HPAIR audience, identifying channels for efficient communication, and executing strategies to promote the HPAIR conferences. Associates may also craft new strategies to increase delegate engagement such as creating newsletters, podcasts, outreach to universities, and establishing partnerships.

Operations

Operations is responsible for ensuring that the conferences run smoothly, and works with other committees and their logistical needs to improve the overall efficiency of the conference. From securing venues and negotiating their corresponding contracts to planning the schedule of the conferences to determining in-conference staffing, Operations touches all aspects of the conferences, wielding a key role behind the scenes.

Finance and Technology

Finance handles the fiscal planning of the conferences and ensures they go smoothly for now and upcoming generations of HPAIR to come. The finance team is responsible for curating conference budgets, cross-collaborating with delegates to process revenue payments, and working directly with the Presidents to ensure HPAIR sustains a healthy fiscal future. The team also is responsible for fostering communication with industry to ensure conferences are financially accessible through sponsorships, and to run the Impact Challenges (sponsored case study/ hack-a-thon style competitions).

Technology uses industry-standard software to build and maintain the digital interfaces that serve traffic to thousands of daily users, processing the transactions that keep HPAIR running. Technology builds and maintains the myHPAIR portal and designs and implements software to make the other teams run more smoothly and improve delegate experience. Projects for the coming semester include building a chatbot to automate routine delegate questions! Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript is required. While no specific framework is required, prior knowledge of React is preferred.
